Simple Carbohydrates are a major source of energy for the body and are found in many nutrient-dense foods (fruits, Sugar, Candy, Syrups, Juice Concentrate and Products with add Sugar). The optimal human diet should contain no more than 15% of Simple Sugars. According to American Heart Association (AHA) most men should consume no more than 150 discretionary calories of sugar per day.

Major Contributors to Dietary Simple Sugars Intake
Soft Drinks consumption is responsible for 33% of the total content of added Simple Sugars (Fructose + Sucrose + Glucose) in the diets of the USA population.
Sweetened Grains (primarily Breakfast Cereals) consumption is responsible for 19% of the total content of added Simple Sugars (Fructose + Sucrose + Glucose) in the diets of the USA population.
Milk Products consumption is responsible for 9% of the total content of added Simple Sugars (Fructose + Sucrose + Glucose) in the diets of the USA population.
Fruit Drinks consumption is responsible for 10% of the total content of added Simple Sugars (Fructose + Sucrose + Glucose) in the diets of the USA population.
Sweets/Candy consumption is responsible for 17% of the total content of added Simple Sugars (Fructose + Sucrose + Glucose) in the diets of the USA population.

Toxic Effects of Excessive Consumption of Simple Sugars
May accelerate the AgingProcess by causing Cross-Linking (glycosylation) of the body’s Protein
– may damage the Blood Vessels
may increase the body’s production of Adrenaline by up to 400%
may increase the risk of Atherosclerosis
may increase the risk of Hypertension
May increase the risk of Cataracts
May accelerate the development of food Allergies
– Simple Sugars
may feed Cancer cells and Cancer patients are therefore advised to reduce their consumption of dietary Simple Sugars
May increase the risk of Cancer (Colon and Stomach)
May suppress the Immune System
May feed the detrimental Candida-albicans yeast
may cause Fatigue
may cause Obesity
May cause Intestinal Permeability
May exacerbate Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Increase production of endogenous Cholesterol
Excessive Simple Sugars are converted to Triglycerides (and are then stored within the body as Fat)
may lower production of HDL Cholesterol
May increase the risk of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2
May cause Inflammation of Joints
May cause Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
May increase the risk of Parkinson’s Disease
May cause depletion of Potassium
May increase the body’s excretion of Magnesium
May cause the depletion of the body’s Vitamin B6
May interfere with the transport of Vitamin C through the body

]]> Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) https://drsokhandan.com/vitamin-b12-cobalamin/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=vitamin-b12-cobalamin Sun, 13 Sep 2020 06:21:43 +0000 http://drsokhandan.com/?p=2256 Vitamin B12 (cobalamin)

Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble and an essential vitamin and use in every cell of the human body. Vegetarians are particularly prone to Vitamin B12 deficiency. The average healthy human adult has a total of 3,000 – 5,000 micrograms of Vitamin B12stored in their Liver. Approximately 39% of adults aged 26 to 83 years of age have plasma Vitamin B12 levels in the “low-normal” range.

Function of B12 in Human Body
– Cofactor in DNA synthesis
– Maturation of developing RED Blood Cell in the Bone Marrow
– Function of nervous system
– Myelin sheet synthesis
– Amino acid metabolism
– Fatty acid metabolism

Biological Benefits of Vitamin B12
– Aging
The body’s ability to absorb dietary Vitamin B12 usually declines
May inhibit the age-related shortening of Telomeres
May help to prevent Atherosclerosis
May reducing toxic levels of Homocysteine
Is is required for the formation of Red Blood Cells
– Macrocytic Anemia
may occur as a result of Vitamin B12 deficiency
– Pernicious Anemia
may occur as a direct result of Vitamin B12 deficiency
May help to prevent damage to Chromosomes
May be essential for the integrity of Cell Membranes

Cortisol https://drsokhandan.com/cortisol/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=cortisol Sun, 09 Aug 2020 06:44:03 +0000 http://drsokhandan.com/?p=1709 Cortisol often called stress hormone, Cortisol a type of Adrenal Glucocorticoid Hormone (Corticosteroid) manufactured by the Adrenal Glands. Cortisol is much more than just a hormone released during stress. Understanding Cortisol and its effect on the body will help the balance hormone and achieve good health.
Cortisol receptors present in every cell of our body, it affects many different functions in the body. Cortisol can help control blood sugar levels, regulate metabolism, help reduce inflammation, and assist with memory . It has a controlling effect on salt and water balance and helps control blood pressure. In women, cortisol also supports the developing fetus during pregnancy. All of these functions make cortisol a crucial hormone to protect overall health and well-being. Cortisol may help to control allergies (by stabilizing Lysosomes). A major burst of Cortisol secretion occurs during the early morning and after meals. Peak Cortisol levels occur at approximately 7:00 a.m. and lowest levels occur at approximately 11:00 p.m, Thereafter, the release of Cortisol from the Adrenal Cortex occurs only in brief bursts (7 to 15 episodes per day). 5% of the body’s Cortisol is loosely bound to Albumin.

Toxic Effects of (excessive) Cortisol
1- Accelerate the Aging process
2- Suppress Immune system
3- My cause Hypertension
4- May cause Fatigue
5- May cause Insulin Resistance
6- May contribute to the Obesity
7- Increase the rate of Neuron detain Alzheimer’s
8- Cortisol increase Appetite (leading to Binge Eating during periods of Stress).
9- Depression patients are found to have elevated (>0.594 ng/ml of saliva) evening Cortisol levels.
10- Insomnia
11- Migraines
12- Increase risk for PMS
13- Cortisol is produced and released within the body in response to Stress.
